Supporting more of Ontario’s Veteran Heroes and their families

As Remembrance Day approaches, I want to acknowledge and promote the meaningful work being done by the Soldiers’ Aid Commission of Ontario.

The Commission has been helping eligible Veterans and their families for more than 100 years and provides assistance of up to $2,000 annually for expenses that include:

  • assistance securing or maintaining housing
  • personal items, services and expenses to support basic needs
  • health-related items, modifications or repairs that support mobility, accessibility or health and safety
  • specialized equipment and assistive devices to support mobility, accessibility or health and safety
  • employment-related supports to remove barriers to employment or improve employability

The Soldier’s Aid Commission is Canada’s only provincially funded financial assistance program specifically for Veterans. The government is proud to highlight their work helping those who have given so much to serve out country and province.

You can find more information about the Soldier’s Aid Commission at ontario.ca/soldiersaid or call 416-327-4674.

Our Veterans have made tremendous sacrifices, and we need to be there when they need us. The government will continue to stand behind every woman and man who has served in our armed forces and look forward to continuing to find new ways to say, “thank you for your service.”
