Soil Health Budget Echo

Minister Lisa Thompson, Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, announced that the government is investing $9.5 million over the next three years equip farmers with the technology they need to maximize the health of their soil and increase their productivity and profitability

The new funding in the 2023 Budget: Building a Strong Ontario will help improve soil data mapping and soil evaluation and monitoring. Soil data and interpretive maps support on‐farm decision‐making, enabling farmers to innovate and use technology to improve their long‐term viability so that they can remain competitive in the global market.
