Province Delivers Affordable Energy for Families in Southwestern Ontario

Ontario has announced the completion of the refurbishment at the Hydro One’s Beck #2 Transformer Station in Niagara Falls. This project strengthens our provinces’ energy infrastructure, ensuring families in Niagara and surrounding regions benefit from clean, reliable, and affordable energy for the next 40 years.

Now that the refurbishment is complete, the station can transmit more than 1,500 megawatts of power and will help supply affordable and reliable energy while facilitating cross-border energy exports to New York state. This station is home to four of Ontario’s 26 transmission connections with neighbouring jurisdictions, this station plays a critical role in cross-border energy trade.  Under Premier Ford, the government remains committed to expanding our energy grid to ensure we meet the needs of delivering clean, reliable, and affordable energy to Ontario families, while opposing the punitive Liberal carbon tax.
