Ontario Welcomes $70 Million Investment to Build World’s First SMR Engineering & Service Centre

the province has secured a $70 million investment from GE Vernova Hitachi to build the world’s first Small Modular Reactor (SMR) Engineering and Service Centre in Durham Region, near the Darlington New Nuclear Project.

This investment delivers on our plan to protect Ontario by attracting investment, creating good-paying jobs and cementing our global leadership in nuclear innovation and clean technology.
