Ontario Tightening Bail Requirements to Protect Communities

 The government will soon introduce new measures to strengthen Ontario’s bail system and protect communities across the province.  

As part of our comprehensive plan to fix the broken bail system, the government will soon introduce legislation that would include proposed new measures to make bail real and consequential for people accused of serious crimes. New measures would include imposing mandatory cash security deposits, enhancing processes for collecting bail debts and improving tracking of violent and repeat offenders.  This strong action builds on
