To mark the beginning of Holocaust Education week, our government is strengthening Holocaust education for high school students and educators across all our schools.
Ontario is committing to new expanded mandatory learning on Holocaust education in the compulsory Grade 10 History course. This addition will be implemented for September 2025 and complements new mandatory learning on the significance of the Holocaust in Grade 6 Social Studies.
We are also investing $650,000 in student, parent and teacher resources and training.
Ontario’s revisions to both the elementary and secondary school curricula demonstrate its ongoing commitment to combat antisemitism and all threats to Canada’s democracy.
