Ontario Significantly Increases Support for Indigenous Equity Projects

Ontario is increasing the Indigenous Energy Support Program (IESP) by $10 million — a 66% increase — bringing total annual funding to $25 million.

This enhanced program will provide funding for Indigenous-led energy projects, help diesel-reliant communities transition off diesel, and expand opportunities for innovation in emerging technologies such as battery storage. These investments will strengthen local capacity, create good-paying jobs, and ensure Indigenous communities are full partners in building Ontario’s clean, reliable, and affordable energy future.
