Ontario Protecting Boreal Caribou
David Piccini, Minister of the Environment, Conservation and Parks, announced our government is investing an historic $29 million to support the protection of boreal caribou and their habitat — the largest single investment dedicated to boreal caribou in our province’s history
The funding will support on-the-ground habitat restoration, protection and other conservation activities, including monitoring, science and research.
The funding is key to managing caribou recovery while maintaining jobs, building local economies in Northern Ontario, and working in partnership with First Nations communities.
