Ontario Observes Treaties Recognition Week 2023
November 5th – 11th is Treaties Recognition Week. This annual event is an opportunity to highlight the importance of the more than 40 treaties and agreements in Ontario that outline the rights, responsibilities, and relationships between the provincial and federal governments.
The government is working with Indigenous and education partners to promote awareness through events at schools and public libraries across the province.
Treaties Recognition Week is a critical part of Ontario’s journey towards healing and reconciliation and reflects our commitment to building more respectful relationships with Indigenous partners and communities.
