Ontario continues to lead the way in job creation, with businesses across the province creating 52,000 new jobs last month. That accounts for nearly 70 per cent of all jobs added across Canada and brings the total to 119,000 new jobs in Ontario over the last four months.
This momentum extends beyond a single month. Over the past year, Ontario has accounted for more than half of all jobs created across the country. And while the U.S. economy lost 23,000 jobs last month, we continue to create jobs and attract new investment.
Our plan to protect Ontario jobs is helping drive that growth. From day one, we’ve backed Ontario businesses by lowering costs and cutting taxes, including reducing the small business tax rate from 3.2 to 2.2 per cent in the 2026 Budget. That means $1.1 billion in savings and up to $5,000 in annual relief for more than 375,000 small businesses.
With U.S. tariffs creating economic uncertainty, we’ll keep building on this progress by lowering costs, attracting investment and helping Ontario businesses grow and create more good-paying jobs.
