Ontario Launches Plan to Secure Energy for Generations

Ontario’s Integrated Plan to Power the Strongest Economy in the G7. This plan is an important part of our government’s work to protect Ontario by bringing together electricity, natural gas, hydrogen and other energy sources under a single roadmap to secure the affordable, reliable, clean and secure energy needed to meet future energy needs, support new housing and build a more competitive, resilient and self-reliant province. 

With electricity demand projected to surge 75 per cent over the next 25 years — equivalent to adding four and a half cities the size of Toronto to the grid — Energy for Generations ends siloed thinking and lays the foundation to meet Ontario’s rising energy needs and protects Ontario workers in engineering, science, construction and other skilled trades by supporting economic growth and keeping workers on the job during a time of economic uncertainty.
