Ontario Invests in Largest Expansion of Seniors Active Living Centres
The government has announced Ontario’s largest single year expansion of Seniors Active Living Centres in the province’s history.
This $17 million investment over three years will open 100 new Seniors Active Living Centres, increasing the number of SALC programs across Ontario from 316 to 416.
Due to the overwhelming success of SALCs, recent changes in effect this year also now allow more types of organizations to apply to deliver Seniors Active Living Centre programs, including municipalities, non-profit corporations, registered charities, Indigenous groups, Legions, Lions Clubs and recreational clubs.
The new programs will initially be drawn through the SALC call for proposals issued on July 16, with a possibility for additional programs being added in future calls. More on this to come in the new year.
