Ontario Investing $56.8 Million to Expand Nursing Enrollment

The government has announced a $57 million investment to expand enrolment in nursing programs at publicly assisted colleges and universities – adding 2,200 new nurse practitioners, registered nurses and registered practical nurses to Ontario’s health care workforce by 2029.

This investment will protect Ontario’s health-care workforce by building a steady pipeline of highly skilled nurses for years to come in hospitals, long-term care homes, community health centres and primary care clinics.
