Ontario Funding Community Safety Priorities

Solicitor General Jones announced that the government is providing police services across the province with additional tools and resources to combat crime and safeguard communities. The Community Safety and Policing Grant (CSP) program will provide approximately $267 million in funding over three years to 147 projects distributed among 90 police service boards across the province.

The projects focus on local and provincial priorities including gun and gang violence, sexual violence and harassment, human trafficking, hate-motivated crime and mental health and addictions.

The government is furthering its commitment to fight gun and gang violence by providing an additional investment of $1.5 million over three years to the Peel Regional Police Service to support its local gun and gang strategy.

The government is making a landmark investment to assist local police in combatting crime and protecting Ontarians.
