Ontario Fast-Tracks Western World’s Largest Nickel Project Under ‘One Project, One Process’

The Ontario government is fast-tracking Canada Nickel Company’s Crawford Nickel Project, the second project to move forward under the province’s One Project, One Process framework.

Once operational, the Crawford Project will be the largest nickel mining operation in the Western world, supporting up to 1,300 direct jobs and 3,000 indirect jobs over the 41-year life of the mine. It will include the largest Canadian nickel mine, along with a processing facility, in Northern Ontario that will supply high-quality, low-carbon nickel needed for electric vehicle batteries and green steel. 

By cutting red tape and accelerating approvals by 50% under the landmark One Project One Process, Ontario is unlocking billions in private-sector investment and advancing nation-building projects that keep jobs, supply chains and economic value here at home.
