To connect thousands of Ontario families to fast, convenient care closer to home, the government is investing $8.27 million toward new and expanded midwifery services across the province. This includes $4.82 million to immediately build and expand midwifery services in a variety of health care facilities, as well as $3.45 million to support future initiatives put forward by health care providers to expand midwifery services in local communities.
By expanding these services in every region of the province, Ontarians will have increased access to midwifery and newborn care both in hospital and at home, as well as more culturally appropriate options.
Through Your Health: A Plan for Connected and Convenient Care, the government continues to deliver convenient care where and when people need it most.
