Ontario Adds Over 23,000 Jobs in December 2024

Statistics Canada released its monthly employment numbers, which showed Ontario added 23,400 jobs in December.

Despite an uncertain global economy in 2024, Ontario remained the economic engine of Canada, adding over 200,000 jobs across key industries, including the automotive, life sciences, tech and advanced manufacturing sectors.

Looking forward as we continue to face global uncertainty and a new administration in the White House, the government is going to continue to create the environment to attract more investments, better jobs and bigger paycheques.

This includes working with our U.S. partners towards achieving free, fair and balanced trade, accelerating resource development and achieving energy security to drive long-term economic growth on both sides of the border.
