National Mining Week
This week is National Mining Week. First celebrated in 1996, the week recognizes the importance of the mining sector to the economic prosperity of our country. The mining sector is also a major economic driver in Ontario, supporting 75,000 jobs.
During National Mining Week, take a moment to promote our government’s work to establish Ontario as the #1 mining investment destination globally through initiatives such as the Critical Minerals Innovation Fund, the Ontario Junior Exploration Program and the Building More Mines Act which are helping build a Made-in-Ontario supply chain from mining critical minerals in the north to manufacturing electric vehicles in the south.
