The Ontario government has approved up to $81 million in one-time funding to support 324,000 additional Computed Tomography (CT) hours at 86 hospitals in 2025/2026.
“I am thrilled to see our local hospitals receive this significant funding, which will directly enhance access to life-saving diagnostic services for our community,” said Jill Dunlop, MPP for Simcoe North. “These additional resources will help increase the availability of CT scans, reducing wait times and supporting faster, more accurate diagnoses. This investment is part of the province-wide initiative, ensuring patients across Ontario get the care they need when they need it. Our healthcare teams work tirelessly every day, and this funding recognizes their dedication while strengthening local health services for everyone.”
The following hospitals in Simcoe North will receive one-time funding as follows:

“We thank the Government of Ontario and our local MPP, Minister Dunlop, for their continued support of Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital,” said Carmine Stumpo, OSMH President & CEO.
“Our CT plays a critical role in supporting quick and accurate diagnoses, moving patients through the system more efficiently. This investment in additional CT scans means faster access to care, closer to home.”
“GBGH is grateful for this additional funding as it will have a significant impact on access to CT care at GBGH,” said Matthew Lawson, GBGH President & CEO. “This increase in CT scanner funding will allow us to provide more diagnostic services for our community, as well as reduce wait times and travel for the residents of North Simcoe.”
