The government is investing nearly $70 billion to build the largest transit expansion in North America, keeping thousands of workers on the job while building the infrastructure that will power Ontario’s economy for generations to come.
Today, Minister Sarkaria announced another major milestone in that plan with the completion of tunnelling for the Eglinton Crosstown West Extension. The project is supporting 4,600 good-paying jobs each year during construction and will create a continuous rapid transit line from Scarborough to Mississauga, connecting nearly 70,000 daily riders to jobs and opportunities across the GTA.
