It’s official! The Tax Relief at the Pumps Act, 2022 has received Royal Assent and gas and fuel taxes in Ontario will be cut for six months, starting July 1, 2022.As part of the plan to keep costs down for Ontario families and businesses, the gas tax rate will be temporarily reduced from 14.7 cents per litre to 9 cents per litre, representing a cut of 5.7 cents per litre. The fuel tax rate, which includes diesel, is being temporarily reduced from 14.3 cents per litre to 9 cents per litre, representing a cut of 5.3 cents per litre.
