Fortress Am-Can Land, Air & Water

Today, Premier Ford outlined Ontario’s plan to enhance the security of our land, air, Arctic and water along the Canada-U.S. border by building Fortress Am-Can. This renewed strategic alliance between Canada and the United States includes the following measures:

• Investments in Ontario AI firms and institutions that improve border protections.
• Increasing capacity at Ontario-based shipbuilding facilities to help protect Canada’s Arctic.
• Increased permanent funding for enhanced tools for law enforcement to stem the cross-border flow of guns and drugs.
• Enhanced biometrics capabilities at Canada’s points of entry to crack down on illegal immigration.

For the plan to succeed, the province is once again calling on the federal government to step up and take measurable and visible action to better secure our borders.
