Consultations on Protections for New Home Buyers

The Ontario government is seeking public input on ways we can better protect new home buyers and support the dream of homeownership.

From June 29 to August, 13, 2023, the public can share their feedback on the Ontario Regulatory Registry on the following topics:

A cooling off period for purchasers of new freehold homes
Whether there should be a requirement that purchasers of new homes receive legal advice on their purchase agreements
Ways to address escalations in the price of new homes after a new home purchase agreement is signed
